Seven more months until Transformers action movie comes out!

Ramblings by A.S. No Comments »

I’ve been anticipating this movie since countless years. Growing up, I’d been a diehard fan of Transformers (and still am– the geek me). I simply can’t wait for it to be released. Only seven more months to go since it’s set for release in July 2007.

And for those who’ve been living in a hole the past year and have no clue about what I’m talking about, here’s the link to the official website: http://www.transformersmovie.com/

Matsushita develops an exo-suit!

Ramblings by A.S. No Comments »

This is interesting… Japanese Technology company Matsushita has developed a suit with robotic muslces which can help paralysed people or stroke victims to regain the use of their limbs. It’s supposed to stimulate damaged muscles so that they ‘remember’ how to be used, in laymens terms.

Awesome device, it should be available two years from now (2009) and is also planned to reach mass markets after that. Priced at $17,000 initially for rehabilitation centers, it will become cheaper when it reaches the mass production phase (about $2300).

Codecs, why on earth so many?

Ramblings by A.S. No Comments »

This is annoying the life out of me! It’s hard enough getting the latest Anime (or not so latest) Anime series in original Japanese language with subtitles on DVD, let alone resorting to fansubs. When reverting to the last resort, fansubs for viewing Anime… I simply fail to understand why there’s a need to encode the distributions in a million different formats? I’ve been driven crazy trying to get some series to work perfectly. Half of it works, and about 5 out of 75 episodes use some weird and unknown codec. I’ve gone crazy installing and uninstalling codec packs like Ace Mega Codec Pack, or Combined Community Codec Pack or Storm Codec Pack, or Cole Media Pack or something or the other!

Dear Fansubbers! If you read this, my requests to you as a humble appreciator of your work:

- Please stick to one Codec pack, like CCCP since it was intended for this purpose
- Please, please, please don’t use OGG/Vorbis for fansubbing, it really is aweful regardless of how easier it makes to sub your distributions

[RANT] And to all the coders out there with too much spare time on their hands, please spare us of making additional codecs, we don’t need them. I don’t care if your codec saves me an additional 5 megabytes of space and reduces pixelization. I’ll live without it as long as my videos work! Thank you very much indeed for all your efforts! [/RANT]

There now, I feel much better! ;-)

Restructuring of Reyox Hosting!

Ramblings by A.S. No Comments »

As you all know, over the past 5 years Reyox Hosting has been a wholly owned company of Reyox Communications, LLC. However since February 2006, I have been hard at work to restructure the entire company to fall under the umbrella of IchiBan Tek (Private) Limited, my family owned corporation which focuses on outsourcing, webdesign and technology consulting.

The reason for this is simple, I had originally bought out all the partners involved in Reyox Hosting by the close of 2005 since they wished to pursue different interests, and hence the need for Reyox Communications, LLC did not exist any more. Therefore since February of this year, I had been working on the restructuring.

What does this mean for everyone concerned with Reyox Hosting? Nothing at all! Nothing is changing, just the legal structure of the company. This will however result in more funding for the growth and development of Reyox Hosting and a slightly bigger staff. I will still be heading the company as always… since Reyox Hosting has been my pet project (and also the biggest) for the last 5 years. This change will become official over the course of the next few weeks.

I look forward to a highly prosperous 2007 for Reyox Hosting and IchiBan Tek (Private) Limited and also wish my clients all the success imaginable! I also thank my clients for all the success that they have brought me. I look forward to countless years of having the honor of hosting your websites :-)

Fake

Poetry by A.S. No Comments »

The world is fake
But appears so real

Smiles are fake
And Seldom real

Confused, I’m not
About this betrayal

It’s certain that
My wounds are real

But worry not
They shall heal

But with one look
That I shall steal

Yet my heart
Still wont heal

Until I feel
What should be real
