There would be several others from newspapers which don’t have online editions so I will try to get clippings and put them online. I will be working with family members and close friends of my Grandfather to put together the AhmadAliKhan.com Memorial Website which would consist of articles about his career and several other things such as his family life and achievements.

Today around 9:30AM (Pakistan Standard Time) my Grandfather, Ahmad Ali Khan passed away after 23 days of hospitalization. He was on a respirator for the duration of the hospitalization because of final stage COPD. For those who don’t know who Ahmad Ali Khan was, words aren’t enough to describe him. He was one of the most wonderful, kind, caring, honest, sincere, loving & benevolent people to walk the face of the earth. He was a humanitarian, a true gentleman and a man of his word. Truly there only a very few people like him who come along once in a while to inspire others.

Professionally he was one of the most famous journalists in Pakistan and had an amazing journalistic career. One of the echelons of his career was serving as Editor in Chief of Pakistan’s leading English newspaper, Dawn for over 25 years. He retired in 2000 and then rejoined the newspaper after 2 years to serve for another 2 years. The burial was around 6:00pm after Asr prayers. He was burried in Karachi, in the DHA Phase 4 Graveyard. He will be remembered by many for there were countless who were inspired by his life and work. I wish my Grandfather a restful hereafter and I am saddened that I will not get to have anymore inspiring and intellectual conversations with him. May Allah rest his soul in peace.

There will be media coverage of the proceedings on Geo, Ary Digital, PTV the City Channel and a few other local T.V channels and newspapers. Our family also extends their thanks to everyone who attended the funeral and sent their condolences.

 Lastly I will be setting up a memorial website for him very soon, details on that will be available later.
